Sled has been great all season but today temps have been rising from the usual 126 to as high as 150

Cold out, sled has scratchers, snow is good.

Do the thermostats go bad on these sleds or is it air in the system?

Had the sled on its side the other day but surely it can handle that - not letting air into the system.

Problem just showed up out of no where- been running fine all year until today.

Help

The tstats are known to fail, especially the 800's which rattle them apart. Thats why the newer 650 & 850 have the stat in the coolant bottle now, not on the motor.

After 2 days of running in dry hard icey snow the temps seem to run hotter

Had scratchers dropped all day but it ran between 130-140. Is that normal?

In good snow it’s usually dead steady at 126/127

not bad temps for conditions try spinning the track a little more to throw the snow in the exchangers

It definitely liked more rpm.
The trail was bullet hard - nights of -30 C do that....... so spinning the track was not really an option.
If you grabbed the throttle, you better be pointed in the right direction, because the hook up was pretty good.
