polaris is saying the Indy evo has a 10 gal gas tank, yet I can only get 5 gal in. And the tank reads full half and res. Anyone know the actual amount the tank holds? And how far you can go on average per tank? Thanks

You have the owners manual? It should state the specs.

It does and I have asked Polaris. When I bought the sled they didn’t even give me enough gas to get it on the trailer, and when I got home it would only take 5 gal. I was just wondering if anyone had actually checked for sure

5 gallons, that dont make sense. Something dont sound right.

I am - or I should say - my two kids are the proud owner of a new Indy evo.

Saw this thread and have common ground here. The sled was delivered with barely enough fuel to get it in the garage. Lol. Putting that aside, when I filled it up it took just a little over 20 l. Book states clearly 38 l.

I gather the shorter seat involved a smaller tank. But shouldn’t the techs know this. Lol

Seems awfully small

I actually called Polaris, they sent me the tank specs with all its dimensions and they swear it’s 38 l.

I need to get the sled out and run it to better asses to this. Based on the tanks shape, I can’t imagine it traps air. But it would only swallow a 20 l can. Will be back posting on this one

Perfect!!

We have managed to put a few tanks through the sled but haven't been able to really keep tabs on distance. Its been a poor winter with the trails not opening so we have been just doing local runs.

Looks like the tank is what they say it is - 37l. The guage on the cap is useless. It bottoms out and there is still a few inches in the bottom of the tank which likely equates to 7-10l easy. The tank is a funny shape with a bulk of the fuel held at the very bottom.

Once we can get some runs i will post some mileage numbers. We havent been able to do any reasonable runs to get some good data. We ran about 80k last saturday and there is still (approx) 10l in the bottom of the tank.

After challenging Polaris on the tank size and them sending me the specs, it looks like it is 37l.

We ran it this weekend out on Georgian Bay and rode from Penatanguishene up to Moon River Falls and back. Started with a chuck full tank, on a day that was 2 deg C, snow was a bit tacky. Tank tally was 142km before it stopped. I had extra fuel so we could get back to the truck.

So lets say in better running conditions you would get 150km.

Conclusion - in my opinion its a bit light. I was hoping this sled would produce 170-180km of running - at least at par with other machines. This will really come into play whether it is worth 'evolving' into adult sled cause it will never have the range.

Fuel Capacity
10 gal (37.9 L). This is for the spec
on the indy evo
