181 Miles on My Assault-Amazing Sled

So a hypothetical question. If I was full throttle, settled in at 8300 RPM and squeezed the brake hard, the tendency would be for downshift and higher rev? Thanks for answering my questions. I feel like I'm coming off as a pain in the butt, but I'm trying to reconcile what I know with what I...

    Pipe pondering

I see. So if you had constant access to great fuel in a perfect world, then it would be great. But for the trail, its tricky. How does porting and head effect the likes of a jaws, bikeman, etc. Do you get the lost power back and keep the top end?

    Pipe pondering

    So looking at DTR...the SSI stainless pipe gained everywhere and had peaks at almost 166. Wouldn't this be the best option? SSI STOCK ADD 7000 =119.3 113.3 +6 7100 =121.8 115.6 +6.2 7200 =124.8 120.5 +4.3 7300 =127.9...

SSI stainless pipe looks promising. Though I haven't gone over number to number through the range yet.

    How Fast? Historically speaking.

So all in all, things are probably about the same as they were. But the new sleds are much more trail friendly ride wise and have superior run quality/mpg. And if you want to try speed runs, sinch em down to 6" of travel and tuck in.

    How Fast? Historically speaking.

How fast is the Axys 800 and similar sleds compared to some of the historically fastest? As in, how do the recent 800s compare to Thundercats, Triples from the early 2000s, Ski doo SDI 1000, Fusion900, cat 1000 etc...? "Reasonably stock" top speed AND/or acceleration, real world. I have only...

    DYNOTYME II !!!!!

OEM's also have to make machines that are decently reliable and make acceptable power, all while guarding against: - Old, inconsistent, low octane or just otherwise bad fuel. - The dude who doesn't warm his sled and takes off full throttle when it's -15 - The 290 pound dude doing consecutive...

Ring Breakin Duration and Trail Breakin.

Hi. Recovering perfectionist here. Looking at Dynotech Research and the Axys 800 response to break in, I'm trying to correlate dyno time to trail time. As in, how many high load full throttle runs on the trail before I can be reasonably satisfied that I've broken in the rings? I want a strong...
