Looking for a 54/40 FP with ER

Got a dual ramp set-up on my helix. 56-40 full for one and 50-44 full on the other. Currently set on the 50-44 as I'm pretty happy with it there. The 56-40 will make a bit snappier.

Can't pull rpm with the common setup

Dave, I'm thinking your secondary spring is a bit on the light side. Find yourself a 140/220 or a 155/222 and keep the 10-70's in place. These 800's love the weight. I personally am running the SSI adjustable weights with a total of 71.4g, which puts me right at 8200 all day long on a stock...

    23-40 gearing top speed ?

105 GPS on a '16 SWB 800 X w/450 miles on her. 1.352" Cobra track. I too re-geared (24/40) and re-clutched the machine. Engine is still pretty tight. Hit this speed on Gogebic a few weeks ago. Certainly was not perfect top speed conditions.

    Black Marker on Primary Test

Got it, thanks all. And if my belt is not making it to the top of the primary, any suggestions on what I should do?

    Idle RPM

Just a thought here....check the deflection of your belt. Too tight will idle low. Too lose, it will idle high. Polaris specs say idle RPM @ 1700 +/- 200.

    Black Marker on Primary Test

Can I perform this test to check that the belt goes to the top of the primary with sled on a lift or does motor need to be loaded?

??? SSI PRO MAG ADJUSTABLE WEIGHTS ???

Only 45 thus far. Trip planned this weekend into next week to run up some miles on this girl. Gearing is 24/40 (thanks Doc!), 50-44 full progressive helix and 140/220 secondary spring w/one delrin washer under spring cup. All stock motor and exhaust. Both clutches balanced and machined. Primary...

??? SSI PRO MAG ADJUSTABLE WEIGHTS ???

Yep, exactly....TEAM white 120/310. Engagement feels very smooth to me. Will the engagement RPM's change at all once sled is broken in and motor is loosened up?

??? SSI PRO MAG ADJUSTABLE WEIGHTS ???

Brock, I'm engaging at 4200ish area with the weights set at 3-1-2 (heel, mid, tip). My belt to sheave is set at .018" with the Gates and SSI set-up.

    Whirling/Whining Noise from Chaincase?

Thanks all. I figured it was normal. Unfortunately Brock, I didn't soak in oil. Installed it dry. Over time will the noise decrease any as the oil works it way to lube?

    Whirling/Whining Noise from Chaincase?

I updated the gearing to 24/40 w/70P chain. This gave a 1/4" slack. I also exchanged out the stock plastic tensioner with the IQr roller tensioner. Rode the sled yesterday and noticed upon deceleration, before I even applied the brake, a whining noise coming the chaincase. Although not terribly...

    Clutch float

I have .110" of float. Can't recall exactly how many washers I have on my bolt, but I know I have one .120" shim and one .020" shim behind secondary. My offset is at .120" for me. I'm running a Gates belt with balanced and machined clutches. .018" belt to sheave clearance. Like others have...

    2016 Switchback Pro S gearing? 1.61 or 1.68 stock

Correct, all you need is the 38T bottom. The 68P chain will work. Are all Cobra equipped sleds geared 22/37, including the Pro X then? I may have overlooked this assuming the top gear was a 23T when I changed to a 40T bottom and 70P chain. Instead of a 1.74, I think I've got a 1.81 if that's...

    2016 Switchback Pro S gearing? 1.61 or 1.68 stock

Wait.....I'm confused here.....I thought the only AXYS model that came standard with the 1.68 ratio (22/37) was the '16 AXYS Rush LE? All other flatland AXYS 800 models (RipSaw II/Cobra tracks) came standard with the 23/37, 1.61 ratio gearing. OP....you sure it's a 22T top gear?

    Clutching and gearing

Also, very important that the belt to sheave clearance is tight (.010"-.020") and your belt deflection is within spec. Personally, mine is at .018" running a Gates belt and deflection at 1.25".

    Clutching and gearing

Considering you're still in break-in mode, the motor will stretch some more and the RPM's will increase once full power is achieved. By adding some weight, you'll bring those rev's down some. I can't speak for the EPI's and their profile, but have you tried a heavier weight like Polaris 10-70's...

    Clutching and gearing

What are your RPM's at on top? One thing I noticed from your description above is the 68g weights. I'd add more weight.....maybe 70g-72g.

BIG THANKS TO DR. NOTADOO AND BROCK

Yes, I am! I'm anxious to try these out because of that more aggressive profile as spoke about in a prior thread. Would you say start with 3 magnets in the heel, 2 in the middle and 2 in the tip = 71.4g with current set-up? I believe that's what pros is running and have great success with.
