Another vote for one that's local vs. the cheapest/least expensive. I have 3 Polaris dealers near me, with one of them being one of the largest in the US (M&M out of Pine Island, MN). I deal with the smallest (and closest) guy, who's treated me awesome since I switched from Cat ... and his...
No, but I used them in a few of my prior 800's. Not a huge, noticeable difference despite some internet claims they see more crisp response. They don't break the bank by any means, but I didn't see the value in them.
I saw the Caputo Performance post on Facebook this morning, saying everyone who has issues with the fuel mode changing needs to contact their dealer ... this must be another flavor of the fuel issues on the 7S. My niece's husband is up north now, and he's got the new Assault (VR1) and said he's...
Sorry to hear about the herniated disc ... it sucks getting old!!! I hate to see a crappy winter, but if I can't ride and I don't have to worry about snow removal duty while I'm fighting this arm issue? I can deal with it LOL
I've been fighting some arm/nerve (maybe even disc - but haven't agreed to get a scan yet) issues the past month and it just hasn't gotten any better. I figured, even if it does improve, riding probably isn't going to help it heal/keep it healthy so I took a gamble earlier this week, and listed...
So now that I'm officially sledless for the season, I at least have some excitement for Snow Check again this Spring. My gut tells me mostly BNG's for the VR1 lineup - which honestly, I'm OK with as long as the price doesn't go up even further. I know the majority of folks haven't been able to...
You guys aren't alone ... I've actually gone from full depression to giving up entirely. On top of the poor weather here in the Midwest, I've been fighting some arm/nerve issues that just aren't getting any better. I took a chance on listing my brand new VR1 for sale this past week, figuring...
The recommended stud (1.325) will work fine but if you want just a little more bite the 1.450 works well too. I've used both, as well as the FastTrac 1.50 that @Doug mentioned. If you're honest with yourself and feel the traction is mostly for safety (on ice, getting up/down icy hills and...
I see most of the lakes are either staked, or WILL BE, by this week (Hayward/Cable). So that's a positive, and the fact there's been minimal snow means the ice is actually good this season. Now we just need about 6" up there to make it pretty good for the trails!!
My OneRig setup just came in the mail the other day, but I haven't installed it yet (Matryx 137") I'll try to get to it and get pics taken, if it helps.
Ever since the AXYS came out, anytime I've messed around with the primary weights or springs I've just slowly backed out the primary cover bolts and able to get the cover off that way (without taking the primary off or using a clutch tool). Is this new primary spring really that much stiffer...
My sled is actually collecting dust because:
1. I don't have snow to ride on yet
2. I'm reluctant to wipe it down due to the finish & scratching up the plastic!!
So what's the deal? One of my buddies took delivery of his sled (back in late October) and it was like they used a dirty, gritty...
Homemade version here:
Otherwise, you could buy a Duraflex scratcher that mounts to the rail and install as needed (my buddy used to do that with his Cat, and install them as needed - but now he just keeps them mounted). The other option is the O.T.T.P. ski mounted scratcher if you want to...
Early reports from the guys who've been able to ride seem to indicate the Matryx cools better than the AXYS. I can't remember if @TurboJamie even commented how cool the sled runs, but I think he did. I remember seeing somewhere (not sure if it was Facebook, HCS, or here) that someone said...
I keep telling myself I'm going to buy a set of adjustable weights (been saying that for about 4 seasons now) ... but never seem to pull the trigger. I honestly think this may be the first sled I literally just "gas, oil, and go" and say the hell with it as far as clutching and/or gearing go...
I don't know about the additional charge stuff, but M&M out of Pine Island, MN is a pretty big Polaris dealer ... they sell stuff all across the country. My guess is they DO charge at some level though.
Hopefully people who ride this area can help with updates on how things are going up there. We were in that area Saturday, to drop off my buddy's sled at the cabin, and although there wasn't much for snow it looked like ice was setting up nicely. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we start seeing...
