Jaws pipe heatshield

Thanks fuse. That's what I was thinking. That keeping more heat in the pipe would keep it performing well in a bigger window.

That is 2 inch header wrap and it took the better part of a roll. Don't remember what I paid for it, I stole it from another project in the shop
 
I also used header wrap, but I used 4 hose clamps to help hold it together, 1 down buy y-pipe, 1 on each side of the spring tab on the side of the pipe. and 1 near the can. then I painted it with black high heat paint, cost about 80 bucks.
 
The heat shield is to keep heat in the pipe only
 
Well...I couldn't take reading about this pipe and heatshield anymore... so I just finished ordering one. Now the waiting starts. :(
 
Call Greg.. also stock covers don't cover the header pipe. I think it has to do with head pipe being able to cool down which affects the pulses in the pipe..
 
Got my heat shield today. For $200 I was expecting a little better quality.

I think I will stick with 20 bucks of header wrap and some header paint.

I tried that first, I couldn't get it to stay in place even using stainless zip ties and hose clamps. I spent hours wrapping it and making it look perfect. My pipe is ceramic coated so it's very slick.

Mine is painted. Wouldn't you think the ceramic would help you keep heat in to some point.

The fit isn't perfect, but to me. The heat shield does it's job. That's what counts to me.

150 plus 45 shipping. I put it on today and with a little massaging with the hammer and dolly it's a good fit. It will do its job no doubt, just thought it would of been a little cleaner look. I put an stainless zip tie on the muffler end.
 
Does Jaws supply any insulation/mat for under the shields?
