Indy 600 clutching

68 are going to be way to heavy for a 600 imo. I ran 10-66 with a team 140-330 primary spring with stock secondary setup and seen improvements. If memory serves me right it ran around 8100-8150. I currently have Qap2 loaded to 64g. But I ran them loaded to 65 last year with gabes clutching. Hope this helps.
That's quite the high rate primary spring. Do they usually need that high of a rate? Never owned a 600 so just curious.

Running 10-66 weights I found mine did with stock secondary. It would not pull rpm up top with 120-310 stock spring. I went with 140 for a bit higher engagement for holeshot and 330 finish to get the rpm up top.

thanks Brett, good info. I'm going to keep the rpm as you suggest. I am going to try 10-66 team 150-310 and a 52-40 F helix with 140-240 secondary. what do you think?

I would think you are not going to be able to pull rpm with that helix with only a 310 finish on your primary spring? Do you have this setup on hand to try already?

I don't have the helix. that's the same basic set up we used in our edge 600s but with 10-62. My new indy still pulls over 8200 with 10-66 and 310 finish. these things are very strong for 600s!

What track and studs are you running?

hacksaw, no studs

I'm running ripsaw two with 96 studs. The hacksaw is probably why ur still able to turn that rpm with the 66s.

that very well could be. I'll try that combo if it ever snows again!

Keep us posted on how it works.

Nothing yet for me racerdave. I have nsp helix to try this year. Also Ssi pipe mod and bmp airflow shelf. Will be running afr gauge at first to make sure it's not too lean with stock mapping. Hopefully will see some improvements. I will run stock pipe a couple of runs, then switch to pipe mod to see what I can gain rpm.

I forgot or I'm missing ?
Are you studded?

I'm studded just 96.

Have you ever tried a 110/290 primary with your daltons?
I'd load up your daltons with 62+ grams and a 110/290 cause of your 96 studs
Try a 48/44 full or 48/42 full or a 66/44.46 with a 140/220

Never tried it. 110/290 primary spring? Where is that from?

A 600 WILL NEVER PULL A 52-40 FULL,THE 52 IS WAY TO STEEP AND THE SPREAD IS TO FAR APART. YOU WOULD HAVE TO PUT A MOSTER SPRING IN THE SECONDARY TO EVEN ATTEMPT IT, SO WHATS THE SENSE..46-42F WOULD BE BETTER TO TRY.imo

thanks for the info Dr. Notadoo , I now have access to that helix. I'll probably try it just for testing. It worked very well in our edge 600's. has anyone tried Polaris 11 series weights? I have 11-64 I'm going to try.
