The stock pipe is known that its made for low and mid. Isnt the motor reving higher when say trail riding and coming out of a corner you roll into wot ??? wouldn't one of the other pipes be better?? Especially if I ride in maine.
I just have a little fine tuning to do. My buddy couldn't keep up with me in fast maine trails. mostly coming out of corners. If it wasn't for these guys on this site I would still be stock. They are a great help.
I have the turbo mags. At 66 groms it turns 8200-8250 with 120/310. That is with no inserts. If I add even the small weights it looses rpms. I was going to try a 120/340 to see if the rpm would come up allowing me to add weight. I'm not sure if this is correct though. And ya Id love to add more...
Yes, we went to maine twice last year, unfortunately only twice. My buddy has the same sled but chose only to change springs. His sled ran good but couldn't keep with mine coming out of corners. Strange was we r even in top speed still.
hopefully we can get more time in to do some testing.
I wasn't really sure how it got there but I'm learning. So 1.8 is even better you say. I have a list of things to check and hopefully we get snow so can run it.
I geared to 1.74, put a 50/44f helix with 140/200, a 120/310 with cutler weights and a gates belt. If I'm not getting full shiftout what would I change? We didn't get to test much last year as we only rode 4 days. Sled worked great but I think there's more top.
I ran a 50/44 as Doc and Brock recommended last year with a 140/200. Used cutler adjustable weights a 120/310 with gates and gear to1.74 and the sled was great. A lot of off the corner pull. Fast Maine trails.
These things aren't that hard to work on. If youre mechanically inclined these guys on this site are very good at steering you in the right direction. Get a couple clutch tools, research youtube and do it yourself. Youre only doing springs and helix. Maybe some weights. Theres certain things the...
Hey Whitey, I ran those last year the two times I went. I'm new to doing modifications but heres what I did. I geared to 1.74, 120/310 prim, 140/200 sec with 50-44full helix, and a gates belt. As I said we only went to maine twice so I didn't play around much. I got the 65g weights. The first...
I never used scratchers and started to make a set last year using the ski bolt. Seems the debris would get under the sliders better coming from the front. Do these rail scratchers work ok??
Hey RD, I have the carltons and they are the same. You can only insert from the heel which makes sense as that is how you access them when they are in the clutch. I think mine are 66g and I run them empty. That works best for now with the set up I have. Sled rips.
